When it comes to nutrition, there is one thing that I am a firm believer in. DIETS DO NOT WORK! The reason being is that diets are extremely hard to stick to, they cost money, and are just overall draining both mentally and physically. And I will be the first to tell you, they didn’t last more than a week. Not because I couldn’t do it, but because it was extremely frustrating to have to follow a strict diet..at least to me. When we force ourselves to eat super perfect, we develop these cravings that make us just want to splurge the next time we see any sort of sweet treat. We get so tired of eating the same things every single day that one day we just go crazy, over indulge and are then left with the feeling of complete dissatisfaction, not only within ourselves but our bodies as well.
The first thing I need you to do is get the whole mindset of “dieting” out of your head now..like right this minute! It is NOT the only way to lose weight, get fit and live healthy. Diets can be extremely harmful to our bodies and it is very rare that they actually ever work. You need to tell yourself that this is not a diet, this is a healthy lifestyle that I want to PERMANENTLY live. It is making the conscious decision on a daily basis to live an overall better life, each and every day. Diets are temporary, a lifestyle is not.
